Is There Hope for Peace?

Is There Hope for Peace?

Did you know that England and France fought at least 44 wars since the Middle Ages?

The craziest thing I learned today is that England and France fought at least 44 wars since the Middle Ages. Yes, that’s 44 armed conflicts between England and France. In fact, from the 12th century to the 19th century, they were at war every 17 years on average.

The two nations fought over territories, political power and even religion. Two of their wars lasted so long, they’re now called “The Hundred Years” wars. They even fought each other on four different continents!

For centuries it seemed that the conflict would last forever. But today Londoners can take a 2 hour train to Paris and enjoy a croissant, and Parisians can take the opposite route and enjoy… beans on toast?
